What is traditional yoga teacher training?

Traditional yoga teacher training is conducted in keeping with the ancient scriptures, like Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, Hatha Yoga Pradipika, or Upanishads. You follow one lineage, in traditional yoga.

Do I need to be a vegetarian, while undergoing a yoga teacher training course?

As Sutras mention, ahimsa, it translates into non-harm to any animal. So, in that respect, yoga promotes sattvic food.

I am not that flexible enough, can I still practice yoga?

Yoga is not just about the flexibility of the body, but of your mind and soul as well. You can practice yoga, according to the comfort level of your body. It is an experience, not a fitness competition. 

What are the requirements to join a teacher training course in Rishikesh?

You have to be physically fit and dedicate yourself to the practice. English knowledge is a must, as the instructions will be delivered in English.

What yoga will I be learning?

You will learn multi-style yoga as a part of the yoga teacher training in Rishikesh. It includes Hatha Yoga and Ashtanga-Vinyasa Yoga. Then there is a separate Yin Yoga TTC as well.

Do I need to be an advanced level yoga practitioner, to enrol for the course?

No, anyone can join the 200 hours yoga teacher training in India. It is the entry level for beginners. 

Can I start to teach immediately after completing the course?

After you complete the 200 hour yoga teacher training in Rishikesh, you must apply for the RYT 200 from Yoga Alliance. Once you receive the certification, you can start teaching. 

How many meals will I get as a part of the training at your ashram?

You will be entitled to three sattvic meals a day. 

Do I need to carry my own mat?

No, we have mats at our ashram. 

What yoga clothes are ideal for the yoga teacher training in Rishikesh?

Light cotton clothing is a good option.

Do I need to apply for a visa to visit India?

Yes, you need to apply for a visa to travel to India for the course.
